Stefan Harg - Acclaimed Soloist and Chamber Music Artist; Principal Clarinet of the Drottningholm Court Orchestra, Sweden
The Swedish clarinettist Stefan Harg has established an international
profile as leading and versatile clarinettists, recording artist and
Stefan’s artistry embraces solo recital, chamber, concerto and orchestral
playing on a rare equal footing and is internationally acknowledged as a master
of all these genres.
He performs at major venues throughout the world. As a soloist he
is invited to major orchestra and venues.
Stefan Harg has also given the first performances of many concertos and
has done much to expose the clarinet concerto repertoire of today's notable

Stefan also runs a project of commissioning new music from young
composers, in association with Uruk-Uruppförandeklubben, Stockholm
He has collaborated with Franco Donatoni, Luciano Berio, Libby Larsen,
György Ligeti and Witold Lutoslawsky.
Stefan was awarded in 2005 the Art Council award to work on the Pierre
Boulez Dialogue per l’Ombra double for
clarinet and electronics.
He has being hailed as a distinguished performer of classical composers
and taken an interest in performing Mozart and his contemporaries in authentic
TV programme Mozart’s Lost Clarinet is about Mozart , Anton Stadler and period
clarinets in which Harg performs the quintet k 518 and
arias from La Clemenza di Titus.
has performed the clarinet concerto k 622 on a Basset clarinet replica as
well as chamber music by Mozart on period instruments.
Stefan is the Principal Clarinet of the Drottningholm Court Orchestra, Sweden
Stefan is also in demand as a chamber musician and performs regularly music in
different chamber music settings and is invited to international festivals.
Stefan has collaborated with conductor such as EsaPekka Salonen, Yevgeny
Svetlanov, Kurt Sanderling, Sixten Ehrling, Valery Gergiev, Sir Colin Davis,
David Robertson, Sir Elliot Gardiner,Bernhard Haitink et al.
gives master classes and lectures all over the world.
Stefan has joined the faculty of the Junior Academy , Stockholm .
He is since 2010 the National Chairman of Sweden for the International Clarinet
and was Director with Kjell Stevensson for
ClarinetFest 2002 in Stockholm
