Biography

               Born in 1987. She started studying clarinet with Feza Cetin at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory in 1998. Actively participated in master classes in 2003, 2004 and 2005 with credentials of Israeli clarinetist Chen Halevi and Cem Mansur. In November 2005, she won the 3rd Third Prize in the Second Young Virtuosos Competition held by Lubomir Pipkov National School of Music, Bulgaria. In 2007 she had the chance to perform before Sabine Meyer and Reiner Wehle in June 2008 she entered Lübeck Musik Hochschule exams in Lübeck, Germany. She studied with Sabine Meyer and Reiner Wehle for certain period. After the special study with Ronald Van Spaendonck during the Ankara Music Festival in 2008 she was invited to Brussels for Postgraduate education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. In May 2008 she successfully performed the Clarinet Concerto by Aaron Copland at the Musfata Kemal Auditorium of Istanbul Technical University receiving praises from many artists, including Fazil Say in particular. In September 2008, she was qualified through the examination of Istanbul State Opera and Ballet and became a resident clarinet performer in the Orchestra. She performed Fazil Say Op. 36, "Khayyam" Clarinet Concerto with great success with Eskisehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro Naci Özgüç, on 17-18 February 2012. Following the Turkey and world premieres by world famous clarinetist Sabine Meyer, young and talented clarinet player Ecesu Sertesen had a great success in performing the works on request by Fazil Say together with acclaimed maestro Naci Özgüç. The performer was utterly appreciated by the classical music community, and Say in particular. The performer currently works as clarinetist at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra in parallel with her solo and chamber music career.
